Telephone calls renew diplomatic ties

Telephone calls have until now passed through a third country, making them very expensive.

It is the first agreement signed between both countries since the announcement last December that the two states would renew diplomatic ties.reenex cps

Americans and Cubans will now be able to make direct calls to each other's countries.

"The re-establishment of direct communications between the United States and Cuba contributes to providing better infrastructure and better communications quality between the people and our two countries," Etecsa said.reenex 價錢

Etecsa's American counterpart, New Jersey based telecommunication firm IDT Domestic Telecom, said: "Ultimately, the agreement will make it easier and more affordable for our customers to call friends and family in Cuba."

According to the Miami Herald newspaper, the two companies were in talks to restart international long-distance traffic between the two countries before the announcement in December.

A key part of the decision of the Obama administration to restore diplomatic ties with Cuba was to help boost telecommunications on the island, the BBC's Will Grant in Havana reports. reenex 價錢

So what happens

So what happens when you throw everything you've got – antibiotics, hand sanitisers, antibacterial soaps, vaccines, even radiation – to combat your own illnesses and infections? For a time, human innovation has allowed us the upper hand in the escalating "arms race" against the microscopic beasts that make us sick. But now that we enjoy those "human protective measures" we may ironically be making ourselves too clean. We could be wiping out beneficial, symbiotic microorganisms along with the harmful parasites.

There are some seemingly unpalatable ways being tested to deal with this. Early trials suggest a host of allergies and autoimmune diseases could be treated by swallowing parasitic worms, or by faecal transplants that re-introduce beneficial microbes back into the gut.

While we may think humans have the upper hand, we have to accept that viruses, bacteria, and all the rest are crafty creatures themselves, that have since evolved their own defenses against our tactics. No doubt we will come up with more sophisticated ways in which to tackle the threat. But one intriguing question is this: is there anything we can learn from other animals' cleaning behaviours that could help us survive our war with disease?周向榮 more...

The Australian performer's latest hit single Chandelie.

Her most recent effort, 1000 Forms of Fear, is her first chart-topper on the Billboard 200, a weekly ranking of top-selling albums.

The Australian performer's latest hit single Chandelier has been her first solo top 20 hit in the United States and achieved triple-platinum sales in Australia, peaking at No. 2 on the charts.

Sia's promotion of her latest work has been somewhat odd, but obviously successful.

Despite a low-key launch, the album sold 52,000 copies in its first week after being released on July 8.

She performed Chandelier on US television program Ellen with her back to the camera and has opted not to take part in traditional photo shoots usually favoured by recording artists.

That appearance was the first promotional work Sia did for the album after she signed a recording deal with RCA Records stipulating she was not required to tour the record or give press interviews to promote it.

Stephen King, John Grisham, Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Nora Roberts, Sue Grafton, Dan Brown … Scott Fitzgerald。
